Three companies that previously presented at a WNYVA forum received funding from WNYVA/Buffalo Angels members in 2015.
The Buffalo Angels is a program of the WNYVA limited to accredited investors. Buffalo Angels activity in 2015 included:
Twelve monthly meetings to review potential investments, share due diligence and monitor status of companies that have received investment from Buffalo Angels members.
Twelve companies made presentations to the group.
Nine companies were accepted for additional due diligence.
Five companies received funding totaling $1,065,000 from Buffalo Angels members. Two companies are currently under consideration.
Participation in the WNY Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
WNYVA and Buffalo Angels members served as judges and mentors for the 43North Business Plan Competition, Buffalo Startup Weekend, the University at Buffalo eLab Pitch Competition and Panasci Business Plan Contest and the NY State Student Business Plan Competition.
WNYVA also hosted students from Canisius College and University at Buffalo at WNYVA forums.
Collaboration with Other Investor Groups
Co-invested with and/or shared due diligence with Rand Capital Corporation, Z80Labs, Excell Partners and angel groups in Rochester, Ithaca and Southern Ontario.
Buffalo Angels members participated in the Canadian National Angel Capital Organization's National Angel Summit.
Member of the Angel Capital Association.
